The 3rd Annual Southern Deer and Turkey Expo will be held this year at the  National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds on August 22-24, 2008.  This year’s show will be bigger and better than before, with more attractions for the public which will help to draw and retain larger crowds.  Our focus is on hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and other outdoor activities.  We expect vendors and exhibits covering all of the activities.

The timing of the event is to capitalize on deer hunters’ preparations for the upcoming season, with the Alabama, Georgia, and Florida archery seasons about a month away.  Hunters will be buying new or replacement gear, guns, ATVs, and trucks.  With fall approaching, many fishermen will be ready to upgrade or replace their worn out equipment. Sportsmen are always looking for new and better equipment to give them the added edge in the field.  We believe this event’s fall timing puts it at the best time to capitalize on the excitement of a new fall season’s approach.

With more than 40,000 square feet of climate-controlled exhibit space, acres of outdoor space, and free parking, the National Peanut Festival Fairground sets up for a great show.  Ticket prices will be set low and weekend passes are also available in an effort to encourage and maintain good customer traffic all weekend.  The Expo will play host to the Raz-mania Archery Competition, which this year includes a Team Competition for the first time.  The Radio People will be sponsoring a Deer Mount Contest, in which the public is being asked to bring in their most impressive mounts to be displayed during the weekend. The Kids Activity Area will host a variety of activities for children of all ages. There will also be food and drink vendors set up onsite. The Southern Deer and Turkey Expo will also be hosting the World Record Exhibit. This unique display includes “The Milo Hanson Buck”, “The James Jordan Buck,” “The John Breen Buck,” “The Ed Broader Buck”, and the world record mountain goat. Also included in the display are the current world record freshwater fish. All of these attractions will encourage family participation and return traffic for the entire weekend.

We are planning an advertising blitz in the six to eight weeks prior to the Expo, including advertising time on the air, in print and on billboards in the Dothan metro and surrounding areas. Booth space is limited, and we will book on a first-come basis, so don’t delay. Get your registration form and deposit in as soon as possible. We are looking forward to a great event and would love to have you be a part of it. Thank you for your business and we will see you in Dothan in August.
